Oil paper Arches

Arches for Oil is a mould-made, 300 gsm paper, composed of 100% cotton fibres. The remarkably durable surface permits a full range of painting techniques, even including masking. Its naturally textured surface offers a quality very similar to a stretched canvas while offering great ease and convenience in execution. It does not require any preparatory work and, thanks to the semi-absorbent surface, paint drying times are slightly faster than on many other painting supports. Because of the paper’s formulation, specifically designed for oil painting, there is no danger of oxidation of the paper fibres, and the pigment remains on the paper’s surface, without “sinking in” and without producing any oily “halos” surrounding the colour.
